Within a few days of being eight weeks old, after they've had their second puppy shot.

| 5. Are the tails and dewclaws done on your puppies before they go to new homes? What if I'd rather have a long tail on my puppy? |

Yes. If you would prefer your puppy to have a natural (long) tail, I need to receive your deposit before the puppy is three days old. Tails and dewclaws are done when puppies are 3-4 days old, depending on their size. If your situation changes or you can't take the puppy for any reason, your deposit is non-refundable.

| 6. Do you vaccinate the puppies yourself, or do you take them to a vet? |

I give my puppies their 6 and 8 weeks shots (distemper/parvo.) I recommend two booster shots after this, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, and then once a year afterwards. The rabies vaccination is usually given at 6 months of age, and then once a year afterwards. Many states, however, now allow three year rabies vaccines after the second one.

| 7. Do you keep a waiting list? |

I do keep waiting lists for expected litters once the dogs are bred, otherwise, no. You would need to go ahead and fill out my online application so I'll have it on file and can contact you when the puppies are born. If you find a puppy elsewhere or your email address changes, please let me know.

| 8. Will you hold a certain puppy for me if I ask you to? |

The deposit amounts are $250. for a merle puppy and $100. for any other color. I don't hold puppies without a deposit.

| 9. If I buy a puppy from you and require shipping, who makes those arrangements? |
|
You should make the initial airline inquiries, before sending a deposit on a puppy. The pet shipping department phone numbers are listed on the Shipping page. Checking an airline's website for flight information won't do you any good because not all planes are equiped to carry live animals. When we've established there is a flight that is acceptable to both of us, you may send your deposit. When it's closer to the time the puppy will be ready to go, I will make the flight reservation, and email you the confirmation number.

| 10. What is the average gestation period for a dog? |

Nine weeks, plus or minus several days. The expected delivery dates I post are based on 63 days from the day of the first breeding (I breed twice during a heat cycle.)

| 12. How many dogs do you have? |

I have 16 poodles, including Vesna, who is spayed, and a rescued/neutered big something. I have 2 rescued/neutered cats and 4 parakeets, and a feral cat I feed at night that I've only seen twice.

| 14. I filled out your online application but didn't hear back from you. Was my application declined? |

If you feel there shouldn't have been a reason for your application to be declined, it's possible there was a problem with your email address and I wasn't able to respond to you. Please email me directly, making sure your email address is correct, or give me a call at 912 816-3797. I respond to all emails. If you're a breeder, the auto-reply you receive will include a reminder that Utopia puppies are only sold as companions.
